Isotype at the V&A: thanks!

March 2011

Items from the Otto and Marie Neurath Isotype Collection, displayed these past months in 'Isotype: international picture language', are now back in Reading from their temporary home at the V&A. Their return draws to a close an immensely satisfying collaboration between 'Isotype revisited' and the V&A. We would like to thank our colleagues and friends at the museum for all their efforts towards realising this very successful display.

We must thank first and foremost Christopher Marsden (Senior Archivist, Word & Image Department), who deftly managed the V&A side of the project from start (May 2008) to finish. At various stages in the development of the display, we were fortunate to work with Chris Gingell (Conservator), Jane Rutherstone (Conservator), Annabel Judd (Head of Design), Catherine Stuart (Deputy Head of Design), Nadine Fleischer (Graphic Designer) and the Print Unit staff, Lucy Trench (Interpretation Editor), Kate Brier (Museum Events Manager) and the Museum Events staff, and Matthew Clarke (Display Manager) and the Technical Services staff. Behind the scenes, we enjoyed the interest and support of Damien Whitmore (Director of Public Affairs) and Beth McKillop (Deputy Director and Director of Collections at the V&A). We are also grateful to the gallery staff who looked after the display during its run.

To all, again, thanks, and our warm regards to a superb museum.
